VESICA PISCIS MAGAZINE is a Japan-based web magazine dedicated to shoegaze culture. Founded in 2019 and officially launched in 2020, the magazine explores shoegaze not only as a music genre but as a cultural movement that continues to shape the global independent music scene.

From a Japanese perspective, we document, analyze, and discuss the evolution of shoegaze while introducing emerging and underground artists from around the world to Japanese audiences. Our mission is to bridge the gap between local and international scenes by providing accurate, contextual coverage that goes beyond simply reporting new releases.

In an era where social media has made information instantly accessible, we believe the value of music journalism lies not in delivering information faster, but in preserving cultural context. VESICA PISCIS MAGAZINE aims to serve as a cultural bridge between Japan and the global shoegaze community, delivering the present state of the scene to the next generation with respect, curiosity, and editorial independence.

日本からの視点でシューゲイズ・シーンを記録・考察するとともに、世界各地のアンダーグラウンド・シューゲイズ／ドリームポップ・シーンで生まれる新しい音楽やアーティストを、日本のリスナーへ正確な文脈とともに紹介することを使命としています。

SNSの普及によって情報そのものの価値が飽和した現在、私たちは「速く伝えること」ではなく、「文化を正しく伝えること」に音楽メディアの役割があると考えています。VESICA PISCIS MAGAZINEは、日本と世界のシューゲイズ・コミュニティをつなぐハブとして、シーンの現在地を次世代へ届けることを目指しています。
